PERSONAL.
The Mayor and Cr. Fred. Robinson have been appointed by the Borough Council to attend a meeting of delegates representing contributing bodies to the Palmerston Hospital Board -to discuss a more generous subsidv from the Government.
The wedding took place at All Saints’ Church, Palmerston North on Wednesday of Miss Ruth Putnam, only daughter of Dr. and Mrs. P. T. Putniam, Palmerston North, and Mr. Ivan B. Johnston, of Kopane, son of Mr. J. M. Johnston, of Rangitikei Street, Palmerston N. There passed away at Carterton on Tuesday a pioneer in the person of Mrs. A. J. Ordish, aged 88 years. The late Mrs. Ordish was one of the first white children horn in Wellington in 1841. She settled in the Wairarapa nearly 70 years ago. Her husband predeceased her 22 years ago.
Miss Daisy Gwendoline Osborne, daughter o'f Mrs. and the late Mr. Edmund Osborne, of Palmerston N., was married to Mr. John Gresby Bowker, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Bowker, of Palmerston North at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church on Wednesday evening.
