BOWLING CLUB CONCERT.
The grand concert to be held in the Town Hall on Thursday, 13th inst., promises to prove a brilliant success.
Palmolrston North’s leading artists have provided a varied and interesting programme, and the residents of Eoxton will have the opportunity of listening to the performances of these talented artists. Items to suit all tastes, will he rendered: Vocal items, pianoforte solos and duets, comic sketches and songs, banjo solos, musical monologues, mental telepathists, conjurers, Highland flings, Irish jigs and bagpipe selections. Details of programme are as follows :
Mr. R. B. Ross, is one of Palmerston North’s leading baritones. Mr. 11. C. Gregory possesses a voice of resonance and volume. Mrs. H. C. Gregory is brilliant and delightful in the. rendering of (musical monologues. Mr. S. McLaehlan, pianist and accompanist. Mrs. McLaiehlan is a talented soprano and figures prominently in musical circles. Mr. R. Grace is well-known throughout the Dominion as a skilful conjurer. His sleight of hand work is mystifying. Mr. R. Partner is a clever comedian .who never fails to amuse his audience. To the accompaniment of his banjo he will also entertain you with some of his < runic -songs. Mr. C. Cronan possesses a tenor voice of (rare quality. Master Bernard C'ooksley will render elocutionary items. Mss Constance Cooksley will give an exhibition of Highland dancing -and hornpipe. Mr. Neil Cmiiden, late Pipe-Major to the Argyle-'Suther-buul Regiment of Edinburgh Castle, Scotland, will accompany the Highland dancing and also render bagpipe selections. Messrs Hutchins and Jeromson will provide a very interesting feature of -the programme in the nature of mental telepathy. They will tell you anything you wish to know and will amaze you with their powers. 'The re-appearance of Miss Doris Morgan will pii’ove an attraction. Miss Morgan is a native of ‘Foxton. In her earlier years she gave promise of becoming prominent in musical circles and on her removal to Palmerston N., she was taken in hand by a capable tutor who lias developed and produced her voice to a remarkable degree. The programme will be supported by local artists.
