PROPOSED FOXTON AIR PORT.

At last night’s Chamber of Commerce .meeting the Minister of Defence (Hon. T. M. Wilford) wrote thanking the Chamber for the interest it was talking in aviation matters and for its offer of co-op-eration. Major T. M. Wilkes, Director of Air Services, also wrote enclosing a sketch of a lean-to building which would provide suitable covering for one Moth machine when folded. •The Chamber decided to hand all data now available to the Mayor to biting ibef-ore the next meeting of the Harbour Board with a view to obtaining their consent to the proposal. It- was also decided 'to forward a letter of appreciation to the local resident who had made the offer of erecting a hangar alt the beach free of cost if the material was provided. The hope was expressed that donations of material for this purpose would be forthcoming.
