DRUNK IN CHARGE OF CAR
Dargaville, May 16. At the Police Court to-day, before Mr. .J. 11. Luxford, S.M., Ned War.ming'ton, an elderly contractor, was fined £2O and costs for being intoxicated while in charge of a motor-car, whereby he collided with and did considerable damage to a bridge leading out of the town. With the added costs of repairs to the bridge, the defendant will have to pay as inmeh as his can- cost. On the strong representation of defendant’s counsel his license was not suspended as it would deprive him of his only means of getting to his work some miles out in the country.
