f. MR. HOLLAND’S POSITION. How long will the present Government last? This question is «ne which is heard on all sides, hut according to recent utterances of the Leader of the Parliamentary Labour Painty (Mr. H. E .Holland), there should not be much risk of a dissolution in less than three years. 'Speaking at a. Greymouth function a few days ago, Mr. J. O’Brien, Labour M.P. for Westland, gave it as his opinion that the present Parliament would run its full term of three years. Mr. Holland, in referring to Mr. T. E. Y. Seddon’s remarks about Mr. Holland’s recent utterance at Hamilton, where he exhorted his followers to “Be prepared,” stated that he did not mean that another election was imminent, hut intended Dint his supporters should keep their lamps trimmed and oiled. Mr. Holland added that lie could not 'conceive of the Labour Party voting with the Coates party on votes of no-confidenieo moved by Mjr. Coates, or vice versa, so that the tenure of Sir Joseph Ward’s Government was assured for Ihe usual term of three years. He, as the leader of the Labour Party in Parliament, was in the position of “King-mak-er.”
