CAR DRIVER’S NARROW ESCAPE.

Feilding, May 16. A level crossing fatality was narrowly averted last, night when a car driven by Mr. John Walker crashed into the Wanganui goods train at the Kiinbolton crossing. Mr. Walker was proceeding in his car along TTorangi Road, and had turned into Kiinbolton Road expecting the line to be clear. The Wanganui goods train, which was running late, unexpectedly crossed the road, and Mr. Walker’s car crashed into it. The driver had a miraculous escape, being thrown from the front seatjnto the back and escaping with 'cuts .and bruises. The car was badly smashed. Air. Walker is one of Feihling’s best-known residents, and is manager of the Feilding branch of Barraud and Abraham, Ltd.
