MISS WILLIAMS ENTERTAINED

BY ALL SAINTS’ -CHOIR AND VESTRY.

. A pleasant social function took plaice in All Saints’ schoolroom last, evening when the choir and vestry gave a. “send-off” to Miss Williams, who has been for a number of years a very devoted member of the Church, and who has taken an active part in the choir and the social welfare of the parish. Mr. C. Salmons and Miss Williams were heartily greeted by those present as they entered the building, all joining in singing “For They are Jolly Good Fellows.” There was a large attendance and games were indulged in and vocal and musical items rendered. Blind-fold boxing proved very amusing. A song was rendered by Mr. L. Couch, who had to respond to an encore and Mr. Edward Murphy gave an elocutionary item. At a suitable juncture during the evening, Rev. Walton presented Miss Williams with a handsome chiming clock on behalf of the choir and vestry and referred to the excellent work done on behalf of the Church by Miss Williams during her residence in Foxton. Rev Nicholas (Presbyterian) endorsed Rev. Walton’s remarks and extended the best wishes of both congregations to both Miss W illiams and Mr. Symons. Supper was provided after which dancing was indulged in.
