S.M. COURT.
MONTHLY SITTING. The monthly sitting of the local Magistrate’s Court was held in the Courthouse this morning before Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M. BY-LAW OASES. H. Podmore, A. Gregory, N. Neilson, G. King, and D. Brown, were (each fined 5/- with costs 10/- for cycling without lights. T. Royal, charged by the Manawatu County Council Traffic Inspector (My. W. (Berry) with allowing three cows to wander on Bowe’s Road, Marotiri, on April 22nd was fined 5/- with costs 10/-. L. Gee and J. Chrystall, charged with allowing horses to wander on the County highway were also fined 5/- with costs 10/-. PROHIBITION ORDER. A prohibition order was granted on the application of the police against Peter Petersen. OIYIL CASES. Judgment was given for plaintiff in -the following civil undefended cases: — A, E. Tongs v. R. Heta,' £1 17s 10d, costs £1 3s Od; J. Martin was ordered to pay C. Erickson £9 9s Cd forthwith, in default seven days’ imprisonment, warrant suspended as long as defendant pays £1 per month. ' : MILITARY DEFAULTER. ■ George Alfred Aldridge charged with failing to attend a military camp held at Waverley on February 16th, 1929, was convicted and fined £1 with costs 10/-.
