—t ■ At last night’s Borough Council meeting the Town Clerk (Mr. W)m. Trueman) extended to the Councillors the congratulations of Mrs. Sherwood on their election to municipal honours. The Mayor acknowledged (the congratulations on behalf of the Council. Mr. J. A. Nash, M.P., was reelected chairman of the ManawatuOroua Power Board at yesterday’s annual meeting. Coniplimentarf references to the work Mr. Nash had done for the board in past years —he had been chairman since its inception seven years ago—were made by members. A pleasing little function took place at the C. M. Ross Coy’s, on Friday evening, when Mr. C. Anderson, who has been with the Arm for two years was presented with a leather suit ease, from the firm and staff. In malking the presentation the manager, Mr. Christie, referred to the good feeling always existing between the members of the staff. Mr. Anderson was always keen and attentive to business, the firm was sorry to loose the services of a good employee and wished him every success in his new venture.
