PLUNKET SOCIETY
The usual monthly meeting of the Plunket Society was held in the Society’s rooms on Monday. Those present were Mesdames F. Robinson (President, in the chair), D. Edwards, Bain, A. Ross, Doel, W. Christie, W. Trueman, D. R. Ogilvy, Smith, Adams, Walton and Barron (lion secretary). An apology for absence was received from Airs. Procter. Air. Trueman, treasurer of the carnival effort forwarded a statement of receipts and expenditure in connection with the carnival which disclosed that the net proceeds of the effort amounted to £387 0s Id. Accounts amounting to £3 16s Gd were passed for payment. The nurse’s report showed that visits for the month totalled 96. Tho proceeds from Air. Corn’s weighing machine amounted to 9/3. Airs.' C. Edwards was appointed visitor for the month of Afay. Messrs Christie, Bergin, J. K. Hornblow, Corn and Hewett were proposed and elected on the Advisory Board. The secretary was instructed to write to Air. Trueman and Air. Perreau who have resigned from the Advisory Board for their past services and to place on record the -splendid work done. Airs. F. Robinson welcomed two new members of the committee, Aire. Doel and Airs. Bain. Later the Advisory Board (Alessrs Christie, Hewett and Corn) met the committee. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs Berg’in and J. K. Hornblow who v ere unavoidably absent. A lengthy discussion and perusal of plans ensued and the Advisory Board decided to meet during- the month when something definite would be put. before the cotamittee at their next monthly meeting. Air. West, Palmerston North, was elected architect for the new building.
Messrs .J. K. Hornblow and Fred. Robinson were elected honorary members.
