Mr. and Mrs. Cowles, of Hamilton, are on a visit to Foxton and arc the guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Barber. Commissioner Hay, 0.8. E., head of the Salvation Army in New’ Zealand and who recently presided over the Airmy Council in London, will visit Foxton next month. Mi'. R. G. Findlay, who for some tilm'e has been a member of the local telephone exchange, has received notice of his transfer to Palmerston North and will leave Foxton on Wednesday next, Mr. Findlay has been a popular, efficient and courteous member of the exchange and his removal from Foxton will he regretted by subscribers. A promising player who last ye air was dogged with bad luck, “Ru'p” will also be missed from the football field and his transfer will cause a vacancy in the ranks of the Juniors. Mr. Braggins will replace Mr. Findlay on the exchange. Mr. L. Bullard, of the local Post Oflijee staff, lias received notice of his transfer on promotion to Runtoria, north of Gisborne, where he will occupy Hie position of postmaster. Mir. Bullard is to be congratulated upon bis well-earned promotion. He has filled the position of clerk in the local office for about 12 years —since his relorn from the Great' War. In fact Aik. Bullard joined the service in Foxton some. 22 years ago, when Mr. Glemeti was postmaster. He has discharged his duties to the department and public with marked ability and while regret will 'he expressed at his departure the good wishes of the public will go with him in his new position.
