UNEMPLOYMENT RELIEF.
RESTD EXT! Al, QUALIFICATION NECESSARY. Wellington, Last Night. Indicating that he had the concurrence of the Premier, the Mayor (Mr. G. A. Troup) made it clear to* flay that men who come from other centres or from the country will not he given employment on city unemployment relief works. The same rule Will be observed as last year, namely, that three months’ residence will he a necessary qualification and this condition will be rigidly enforced. “Each local body must look after its own unemployed,” said Air. Troup, “giving .them work in their own district and retaining them in I heir own homes.”
