A letter was received at last, night’s Borough (Council meeting from the Massey College in answer to’ a letter from the Council asking if it could be arranged for a Professor to visit Foxton for the purpose of lecturing on top dressing, stating that Professor Scrivener would be free to visit Foxton far the purpose mentioned between the 13th and 18th May. The Mayor said that the suggestion had come fro mOr. Lucinsky who brought the matter before the Council sojmePsix months ago. It was decided to endeavour to arrange for the Professor to speak in the Town Hall on 'Saturday, May J Bth. The Professor will take for his subject “Manures,” and it is understood that he will answer any questions relative to local soils that may he put to liim. The Mayor made an offer of cither of two sections for a period of two years if it could be arranged for the College to carry out experimental work in top dressing locally. t
