PROPOSED BEACH AERODROME.

The president of the Foxton Chamber o£ Commerce (Mr. J. jK. Horn blow) reported to a special meeting of the Chamber o-f Tuesday evening on a recommendation placed before the Minister for Defence (Hon. T. M. Wiilford) that the Beach 'be declaim! an etrnergeney landing ground and also on the subsequent inspection by Major Wilkes of the proposed site. The President further reported that he had that evening received an anonymous offer from a local resident to erect a hangar free of cost if the necessary material was provided. It was decided to tlianlk the Minister for the prompt - attention he had given Die matter and offering the Chamber’s co-operation in any way towards haying a suitable ground prepared.
