TOWN HALL. Days of the “Old West” have not .passed forever. In the vast territory of the Painted Desert in northern Arizona, smoke still rises frojm the adventurer’s campfires, and here and there in that vast and picturesque tableland, a lone Indian, plodding his way to or from the Navajo reservation near Flagstaff, can be seen. Into this spot, one of the few remaining frontiers of white man civilisation, a troupe of Paramount moving picture Avorkers penetrated for the making of ‘HWalanche,” Zane Grey’s latest story of the romantic .West. Otto Brower, neAvly appointed director, headed the troupe, and Jack Holt, Baelanova, John DarroAV and Doris Hill were in the company. “Avalanche,” which Avill slioav at the Town Hall on Wednesday, is a story of the old days of Avagou trains and gamblers. Also “A She Going Sailor” (Comedy), News and Magazine. Usual prices. The Avidely heralded £400,000 Universal super-production of “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” has at last been scheduled to show here and will open at the Town Hall next week. The gigantic feature was close to two years in production and over 5,000 people were used in making it. Every financial, technical, and physical resource of the tremendous Universal organisation was employed in making this one of the greatest photodramas ever brought to the screen.
