FOXTON GIRL GUIDES
The monthly church parade of the Girl Guides and Boy Scouts took place on Sunday morning at the Presbyterian Church. The Guides took advantage of the occasion to have the colours, presented by the Levin Guide Coy. dedicated. The service Avas conducted by Rev. W. 11. Nicholas. The Guides and their officers taking their part in the cerdmony in a most impressive manner. After the dedication the colour party: Patrol leader Meta Mason, and guides Ada Roore and Nooline Brown, advanced to the piitpi-t and received the Hag from the hands of the minister, avlio then addressed the congregation on the text “Thou has given a banner to them that fear Thee” Ps. 00:4, and pointed out that as the flag consisted of three colours, white, blue and red combined, overlaid one on the other, so these colours were symbolical of life which ought to be a comitbinat'iori of Purity, Loyality and Sacrifice, and these qualities Avould make us good citizens, faithful servants of God who had revealed Himself to us in the purity, loyality and sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the World's Saviour. The colours of the Eoxton Coy., having been dedicated they will be used at the parade on Anzac Day.
