TvER TWO MILLIONS IN HAND
An outline of the operations of [lie State Advances Department from December 10, 1928, to April tii, was given by the Prime Minister (Rt. Hon. Sir Joseph Ward) at the annual meeting of the Wellington Chamber of Coimimerce on Tuesday. Loans to settlers for the period under review, said (lie Prime Minister, amounted to £1,211,420, and leans to workers to £941,990, making a grand total of £2,153,410. 'Now loan moneys made available to the Department for Mint period amoun!oil to £3,012,094. The balance of loan moneys held available for investment was £2,395,544.
