MANAWATU FLOOD CONTROL.
MINISTER VISITS AREA. In the hope of Obtaining a subsidy il the work is approved, representatives of the Manawatu-Oroua River Board discussed with the Hon. E. A. Ransom (Minister of Publio Works) who paid a short visit to Palmerston N. on Saturday, their proposed modified scheme of flood protection works in the Lower Manawatu. The Minister who visited the lower portion while en route to Taranaki a week ago, made an inspection of the whole area bn Saturday. He was accompanied by Messrs J. A. Nash, M[-P-> J. linklater, M.P., A. Seifert, W. S. Carter, A. Buchanan, R. Law, R. Tanner, and F. C. Hay (Engineer).
