PERSONAL.
The Maori Bishop twill visit Mata karapa on the 23rd inst. Mrs Griffin, of Wellington, was a visitor to Foxton ,to-day. Mr D. R.CBarron, Manawaitu Rabbit Board inspector, is on his annual leave. Mrs M. Warhurst and her two daughters, of Clyde, Central Otago, are visitors to Fox'ton and are the guests of Mr and Mrs D. R. Barron - fe The engagement is announced of Myra Eleanor, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Lin'Muter, Milson’s Line, Palmerston North, to Munro Campbell, eldest son of Mr and Mrs M. A. MacLeod, TaonUi.
Mr L’anibie, professional golf coach, who has been engaged by the local club during the week, left for Palmerston N. to-day. We understand that the club has made arrangements for a further engagement of Mr L’ambie at a later date. Owing to indisposition, Sir Janies Wilson was unable to preside at Thursday’s meeting of the Palmerston N. Hospital Board. A motion of sympathy was passed to the Chairman and the hope expressed by members that he wolud soon be restored to health.
Mr W. E. Adams, son of Dr. Adamis, late of Foxton and now of Wanganui, has made a brilliant start in his professional education. He obtained a National Scholarship before entering Wanganui College, and, recently, passed his B.Sc. examination with distinction at Otago University, rib tuning a Senior University Scholarship in Zoology and also passing top for New Zealand in Geology, the other section of his B.Sc. examination. He is now continuing -for his M.'Sc. before continuing his medical course.
