CARNIVAL NOTES
There was a good attendance .at the Citizen’s children’s joy (light held at ithe Masonic Ifall on Thursday evening'. There were a large number of children in fancy attire, and (Messrs M. E. Perronu and W. Heyes acted as judges. A very pleasant dance for adults followed. To-night the Country Queen Committee will bold a euchre party in Halrper’s Lounge. The Sports Queen Committee announce a football match, Wanderers Seniors v. Fox ton Seniors, on Saturday next, at Easton Park, and also a shop day in Main Street on the same date. A butter sponge competition will be held in connection with the shop, when prizes of 7/fi first aiul 3/- second will be offered. The sponges will become the property of the shop. A dance will also be held in the Masonic Ifall iu the evening; fresh' novelties. The 'Country Queen Committee are holding a . grand concert at Oroua Downs Hall on Friday evening, The programme twill he made up of Palmerston N. and Foxton talent. A dance will follow.. A ehar-a-bane will run from Foxton, leaving the post offitee at 7.30 .p.m. The Citizen’s Queen Committee have arranged for a dance to be held in the Dry id’s Hall Shannon, on Friday the 12th Snst, Newton’s orchestra.
