CARNIVAL NOTES

The Plunket Carnival is moving apace and the various committees are getting in quite a tidy sulm from the attractions provided, which include dances, house parties, etc. On Thursday evening the Sports will hold a euchre party in Hamer’s rooms, and on Saturday evening a dance, with novelty items will be held in the Masonic Hall. Good jmpper, music and prizes. The Country' Committee is stirring things up a treat. Card parties will be held in Hamer’s rooms every Tuesday evening. At Oi'oua Downs on Friday afternoon and evening next novel attractions will (be held, in the Oroua Downs hall. Produce stalls, ice creams, etc. In the evening a school children’s elo-* cutionary contest will take place to foe followed by a dance. The afternoon function will be free.
