BOROUGH COUNCIL.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the. Foxton Borough Council was held in the Council Chambers last, night. CORRESPONDENCE was rebel 'and dealt Avith as follows: — From the Manawatu-Oroua River Board inviting representatives from the Council to attend a function to celebrate the opening of the electric flood recorder at Fitzherbert Bridge, Palmerston North, on 14th March. —Accepted Avith thanks. . From the Main Highways Board, notifying the closing date for applciations for main higlnvay subsidies for the coming year. It Avas decided to endeavour to have Avenue Road from Main St. to No. 6 Line and also No. 6 Line fro ! m Avenue Road to Union Street declared as Main Highways. It was decided that for the future cars be parked head in at an angle to the curb in Main Street instead of north and south and that parking be permitted anywhere in Main Street not. nearer than 33ft. from any street intersection. No action was token in regard to the Avater Avoi’ks foreman’s suggestion that a Avater trough be erected at the north end of the town. The sub division of pt, see. block IV Lady’s Mile in the naine of Alf. Fraser Avas approved. The Mayor and Crs. C'owley and Rand Avere deputed to sign the district electors list. The schedule of duties for the sexton as drawn up by the Town Clerk were approved. The T'oavii Clerk submitted a comprehensive report on the result of the annual Municipal Conference, held at Wanganui, attended by the Mayor and himself.
