A FATAL EXPERIMENT.
SCHOOLMASTERS TRAGIC (DEATH. Carterton, Last Night. Mr. ,Claude Hector Olson, first assistant at the Carterton District High School, who had been acting headmaster since the beginning of the term, and who was found dead in the science room on Saturday morning, had been experimenting with cyanide of potassium. He left a .note saying: “Took a drink, thought it was water; it must have been .” The letter then trailed off. A post mortem examination was held, and the inquest was opened yesterday and adjourned.| ,The contents of the stomach are being analysed. The deceased gentleman, who was aged 27, was a clever writer of topical verse. He contributed to many periodicals in New Zealand and Australia.
