FOXTON SWIMMING CLUB.
COMMITTEE MEETING. A committee meeting of the Foxton Swimming (Club was held in Walls’ rooms on Thursday evening, presided over by Mr. li. Hutchins (President). Also present were: Messrs A. Walls, 0. Doel, R. Hornblow and the secretary (Mr. D. R. Barron). .The secretary reported that the 9th March would he a suitable night on which to hold the Club’s annual carnival and the date was accepted. The programine drawn up by the secretary was perused and adopted as follows: Ladies’ events: —(Beginners,’ aeross the baths; 25yds. handicap; 50yds. Centre Championship; 50yds. handicap; and diving. Men: —Beginners’, across the baths; 25 yds. handicap, breast stroke; 100yds and 50yds. handicap events, and diving.
There will also be a men’s relay and dual relay race. Rev. W. 11. Nicholas has kindly donated the trophy for the event for boys under 10. The following officials wove appointed : Touch line judges: Messrs C. Procter, T. Chipper, G. Alexander, and 0. Doel; time-keepers: Messrs W. Neville and C. Prtiohard; hnndicappers: Messrs IT. Hutchins, D. R. Barron and 0. Doel; blackboard steward: Mr. C. Procter. The appointment of starters, judges, one timekeeper and (‘all stewards was left to the' Centre. A challenge for the Hornblow Ferns was received from a team comprised of Messrs R. Ball and G. and W. Hirini.
