SCHOOL PHYSICAL INSTRUCTION.
VISIT OF INSTRUCTOR. Mr. F. Roydhouse, physical instructor under the Education Department, visited the local school yesterday. After an inspection of the various squads he met the teachers in conference and detailed for their benefit several new points which are to he introduced into the work 1 of physical training. He expressed himself as well pleased with the organization in force in the schools, and congratulated the headmaster and teachers on the good work accomplished in the past. The school this year is fortunate in having as a member of its staff Miss E. Vereker-Bindon, a teacher specially trained in physical education, one who is consequently an expert and who is fully qualified to teach such forms of training as folk-dancing, eurhythmies, etc., in addition to the accepted physical exercises. 'The headmaster has so organised his school that the greatest possible benefit will accrue to the pu • pils and teachers from having Miss Bindon as a colleague.
