CANOE CAPSIZES

SMALL BOY DROWNED. Napier, February 8. Kenneth Fraser Hill, aged ten years, Avhose parents reside in Wellington, the father being an engineer in the Puiblic Works Department, but who has lived almost from infancy with his grandmother, Mrs. A. L. D. Fraser, of Hastings, Avas droAvned this afternoon at Haiunoana. Deceased was invited by another boy to take a canoe for a paddle on the lake. Hill accepted but was only a few yai’ds from the shore when the craft capsized. A number of small boys on the bank ran for assistance but by the time the body -was recovered, a few minutes lately it was too late for efforts at resuscitation to succeed. This is the third fatality at Huamoana since the New! Year.
