SWIMMING
tV. HIRINI WINS RANGITIKEI CUP.
On Tuesday evening Foxton was represented at the Feilding Amateur Swimming Club’s carnival 'by Messrs V. and G. Hirini, R. Ball and V. Moore. W. Hirini was successful in winning the Rangitikei Cup with ease and later had the trophy presented to him by Mi'- J. G. Eliott (Patron of the Club). 'The local swimmers competed in the following events: — _ 50yds. handicap: .Third heat: J. Iliriui 2nd. Fifth heat: V. Moore 2nd. Sixth heat: R. Ball 2nd. Rangitikei Cup, 100yds: W. Hirini 1, C. McKenzie (Apollo) 2, Er Fletcher (Palmerston N.) 3. 'Time 67 3-ssec. 100yds. handicap ippen): Third heat: W. Hirini 1. Time 84sec. The cup won l>y W. Hirini is at present on exhibition in Mr., D. Ball’s .window.
