FOXTON DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Foxton District High School Committee was held last evening, presided over by the chairman (Mr. J. K. Hornblow). Also present were Messrs S. E. Cowley, M. E. Perreau, A:. Stevenson, G. Huntley, D. Christie, J. Ross and the secretary (Mr. R. Rangiheuea). The chairman’s action in authorising the cutting of grass in the school ground was endorsed. The secretary submitted a statement in connection with the school concert which disclosed a credit balance ol £l9 7s 7d. The resignation of Mrs. E. M. Baillie from the teaching staff of the school was accepted with regret and it was decided to forward her a letter of appreciation of her services. Mr. J. S. Moir wrote stating that he would he unable to audit the school accounts owing to having removed to Shannon. Mr. Moir’s resignation as auditor was accepted with regret and Mr. W. Trueman was elected .to the position. The Board wrote notifying that Miss E. V. Bindon had been appointed to the teaching staff of the Foxton D.H. School. —Endorsed. The Board also notified the transfer to Foxton of Miss J. Mountfort, of Bunnythorpe.—Endorsed. It was decided* ifco hold the annual school picnic on the Ashhurst Domain on Wednesday, 6th February. Accounts amounting to £22 16s 10d, were passed for payment. The chairman reported that a bicycle shelter would be erected at the school by the Board at an early date. Messrs S. E. Cowley and D. Christie were appointed visitors for the month. The Comlmittee made an inspection of the school premises and decided upon certain matters in connection with the environment.
