HIGH-POWER LINE BLOWN DOWN.

CAUSES TROUBLE AT DAIRY FARM. Wanganui, Last Night. Mr. A. J. Glasgow and family, who live at Ford el I, had an exciting experience to-day, when at the height of a terrific gale an 11,000 volt power line, taking current between Marton and Ilunterville, came down in the vicinity of the milking shed. Milking v r as in progress and the wire fence, tank and floor became alive. A cow coming in contact -with the fence toppled over <and the rest of the herd, sensing trouble, gathered at the spot. Seven cows received shocks and were, stunned but only one succumbed. Mr. Glasgow and his son, in attempting to clear the animals from ibe danger point, suffered several shocks. Mr. GlasgoV junior, seized -a bucket from, the floor and was unable to let go until lie got clear of the electrified ground. A little later, a Maori in search of a drink approached the tank and was compelled to dance a haka to bring himself clear of the current on the floor.
