MATCH AT SHANGHAI. GREAT CROWD RUSHES GATES. Evidence of the astonishing growth of the interest of Chinese in football was shown by the attendance of 25,000 people at a match between the Shanghai Recreation Club (foreigners) and the Lohhva Football Club (Chinese). Half an hour before the commencement of the game the authorities tried to prevent any more persons from entering the ground, but in spite of the efforts of the police and a few .soldiers the crowd rushed the gates and many were trampled underfoot. Two women were seriously injured, and 40 or 50 sustained minor injuries.
