BOWLING.
A special meeting of the Foxton BoAvling Club Avas held last week, presided over by the President (Mr. W. S. Heyes). Also present were: Messrs D. Christie, W. H. Walton, J. Ne'wth, A. Stevenson, H. Hamer, D. Clements, F. Robinson, AY. Hoavc, A. P. Easton, J. M. 'Thomson, and the secretary (Mir. R. Warwick).
It was decided to hold a bazaar in March in an endeavour to raise funds to wipe off the club’s liabilities provided the co-operation of the ladies could be obtained.. A further meeting will be held of both bowlers and croquet players to consider the question. In order to conserve the funds it was decided to dispense with the services of the caretaker. Some enjoyable play® has been participated in during the last few days, the results of which are as follows: — Nye Ferns. —On Wednesday last a team skipped by Mr. J. M. Thomson challenged the holders of the Nye Ferns bu'fc the play-off resulted in the challengers being defeated. The scores were as follows: —Holders : Messrs A. Walls, F. Robinson, 13. Christie, and M. H. Walker (s) 30, challengers: Messrs H. Hamer, ,J. NeWth, R. Warwick, and J. Thomson (s) 16. WiILFORD CUP.
