NO PARKING IN VICTORIA STREET.

DECISION O.F BOROUGH COUNCIL. “That it be an instruction to the traffic inspector to prevent motor vehicles from parking in Victoria Street, on sports and race days” was the decision of the Borough Council last evening. The danger constituted by vehicles parked along this street on race days was_ pointed out to the Council by the Mayor (Mr. M. E. Perreau), who had been -requested to bring the matter before the Council Club officials and also by service car drivers. Cr. Cowley questioned whether the .Council had_ the power to prevent cars from being parked on this particular street hut the Clerk read the Act in respect to the powers of the traffic inspector, which were very wide and gave the necessary authority.

The matter was earned unanimously.
