When the Manawatu County Council delegates to the local bodies iconference, convened by the Manawatu-Oroua River Board asked at yesterday’s meeting for instructions as to how they were to act, the chairman (Mr. W. E. Barber) said: “Bring back all information you can without committing the council. Be non-committal, absolutely.” Cr. Boyce: Will we support the application for a government subsidy? Cr. J. H. Perrett: Be very careful, now. Cr. Boyce: It is darned easy to fall in. The chairman: Get all the information you can and sit tight.
