RAILWAY HOLIDAY TRAFFIC
In conversation with the local stationmaster (Mr. Martin) we were informed that the number of excursion tickets issued from Foxton during the holiday period was 240. Mr. Martin said this number is considered very satisfactory in view of the recent depression and not altogether satisfactory weather conditions. He further expressed the opinion that the reduced railway fares were again attracting the holiday public. Many of the local and district public, however, did their booking through Palmerston North and Levin.
