HOLIDAY RACING
The holiday racing fixtures were continued on Monday and Tuesday. At Ellerslie Red Heckle won the Great Northern Derby from Prodiee. Pegaway won the. Auckland Rawing Club Handicap and Aussie hid the field home in the sprint. Panther was the winner of the Wairarapa Cup, ran at Tauherenikau, and Banket was successful in the Kaiwaiwai Handicap. The Marion Cup fell to Nightmarch, and Miss Pat was the winner of the Stewards’ Handicap. Orazone won the Stratford iCup and the sprint went to Ridgemont. The winner of the Wyndham Cup was Pink Note, and Line scored at Greymouth. The Waikouaiti Cup was won by Taboo. At Alexandra Park, Prince Pointer and 'The Abbey were the principal winners and Kingcraft and Arrow Chief showed out at Can'tei-bury Park. Decreases in the totalisator figures 'were recorded at most of the meetings, the most notable being at Ellerslie.
The locally owned Maui (V. E. Bryant’s), won the Warded Handicap at Tau'herenikau.
