SCHOOL ATTENDANCES.

OTAGO’S RECORD. Dunedin, December 13. “The average attendance at the Otago schools is the best in New Zealand,” said the secretary at a meeting of the Otago Education Board. _ “That has be,en the ease for years,” remarked the chairman, who said that the average attendance for this year was about 92 per cent. The attendance officer reported that for the three weeks ending December 7, since his last report the attendance generally had been well maintained, and from present indications it seemed likely that the attendance for the December quarter would be the best of the year as several schools in thel country, city, and suburbs were averaging from 94 to 95 per cent.
