TOWN HALL. A line programme of vaudeville and pictures will be offered at the Town Hall to-night. . “Vulini,” a master magician will present a pleasing turn with the latest in magic and conjuring and a clever and novel juggling act.
The picture is “Dressed to Kill,” Fox Films novel story of the modern underworld. Edmund Lowe, remembered for his splendid work in “What Price Glory,” plays the roles of “Mile Away Barry,” the master crook, debonair, immaculately dressed, perfectly groomed, patron of the opera and night clubs and consort of silken ladies, in direct contrast to the accepted type of thug who sneaks up a dark alley and belays his victim with a black jack. ißen Bard is his chief assistant and Mary Astor plays the leading feminine role, adding her refreshing beauty to the picture, while Charles Morton plays' opposite her in the romantic role. *pont, who brings to the screen a new artistry, a unique method of filming entirely different from the formula like •methods generally in vogue. No expense was spared in giving Dupont the best of the “breaks” for “Love Me and the World Is Mine,” the great Universal production which will be the featured attraction at the Royal theatre to-night. World-famed artists designed the many settings, great writers worked for weeks on the script, the finest cast that was ever assembled in one picture was engaged. And Dupont rose nobly to the occasion. The result is indeed a classic, an immortal screen play that will he a mark at which aspiring directors will shoot for years to come. Consider the locale. Brilliant, exotic, pre-war Vienna is the colourful background. Gayly bedecked peasants mingle with the sombrely clad- soldiery. Pretty Viennese maids coquette with trim junior officers. .
