THE SHANNON BRIDGE
TO BE TOP-DRESSED WITH BITUMEN. In reply to a Avire from Mr. A. E. Hyde, president of the Shannon Chamber of Commerce, regarding the delay in opening the neAV road to Foxton, Mr. J. Linklater, M.P., has replied as follows (says the NeAVs) : “Position Avith regard to Shannon bridge is that a dressing of bitumen has to be applied before it can be opened for general traffic. Work on this Avill be commenced immediately, and if fine weather is obtained, Avill be permanently opened to the general public in about ten daj r s.” This means that the bridge should be opened by .Christmas.
