OCTOBER FORKING
The amount of gas manufactured diming the month of October was 352,800 ft., which with the amount in the holder on October Ist, 15,000 ft. made, a total of 367,800 ft. During the month 296,200 ft. was used by consumers, 26,000 ft. at the works and there was 16,500 ft. in the holder on October 31st, making 'a total of 332,700 ft. accounted for and leaving 35,100 ft. representing 9.9 per cent, unaccounted for. Thirty-two tons 8 cwt. of coal were carbonised, yielding 10,880 e.ft. of gas to the ton and producing 7 tons of coke. The receipts for the month totalled £206 13s 6d and were made up as follows:—Gas sales (lighting) £23 16s 7d, heat and power £llß 12s Od, coke sales £23 10s 2d, tar sales £l6 6s Od, services and fittings £l6 4s 6d, miscellaneous £8 4s 3d. The expenditure for the month totalled £238 8s Od, and was made up as follows: —Coal £9O 19s Bd, salaries and wages £52 2s Bd, services and fittings £23 18s 7d, tools 19/8, printing and advertising £4 17s 6d, working expenses £2 2s Bd, Interest and Sinking Fund £63 7s 3d. GAS MANAGER’S REPORT. The gas managed (Mr. W. S. Heyes) reported that the plant at the works was functioning satisfactoi'ilv. During the month the big exhauster was overhauled and cleaned. —Adopted.
