TOWN HALL “The Founflusher,” which features Marian Nixon and George Lewis will be the attraction at the Town Hall on [Friday. The story is well constructed and is taken from the play of the same title by Caesar Dunn, noted Broadway playwright. It is about a young shoe-clerk whose rival for ‘ the hand of the girl is the son of his employer. These are played by Lewis, Aliss Nixon and Eddie Phillips. Of course, the young man gets a break when the town hanker accidentally loans him £IO,OOO. But that isn’t the end, it’s only the beginning and the picture carries this out to the surprising and thrilling denouement. Wesley Ruggles directed a splendid picture and mention is deserved by members of the supporting east, Churchill Ross, Jimmy Aye, Burr Mclntosh, Otto Hoffman, Wilfred North, Hayden Stevensojq Aliriam Fauehe and Patrica Caron. With “Model George” (Comedy), and News. Usual prices. Alore thrills than are usually expected even in a Tom Alix Western are to be had by seeing “Daredevil’s Reward,” Fox Films- feature now showing at the Town Hall on Saturday. Tom in the role of a Texas Ranger has evidently thought up some new stunts for this production. Usual prices. ROYAL. In “Peaks of Destiny” or (“The Wrath of the Gods”), the big Continental film at the Royal on Saturday the Ufa Company have shown that there are fields of pictorial beauty as yet barely explored by the camera. In their pursuit of this beauty they give free rein to the imagination. This latest creation introduces under its melodramatic title a mass of amazingly beautiful Alpine material, woven into a story that expresses something of the spirit, of the mountains amid which it is set. This spirit is epitomised in the fearless bravery of the mountain climbers, and the unrestrained joie-de-vivre of the dancer, who enact the “triangle” drama. Towards the close of the picture contrast is made between the two mountaineer rivals hanging upon the brink of death in a blizzard, and the girl dancing her new “dance of joy” to a theatre audience. With “Lady Lion” (Comedy), and News. Prices 1/- and 1/6. Children half price.
