ALL SAINTS’ CHILDREN’S HOME.

The matron desires to thank the following for their kindness during the month of November: — Airs. Raikes, eggs; Mrs. Hartley, 3 dozen eggs; Mrs. Kellehcr, ice cream; Mrs. Wialls, cakes and buns; Airs. F. Robinson, butter, dripping, plums, vegetables and flowers; Dorset and Riches, meat; Mr Hart, free cartage; Mr. Dawson, fish; Miss Jordon, 6 dozen eggs; Dorcas (Club, parcel of clothing; Miss Thompson, clothing; Miss McMillan, clothing; Mrs. Robert, milk and ice cream; Mrs. Liggins (Tokomaru), eggs; Committee (Palmerston), sweets, vegetables, jam, flowers and cakes; Thwaites (Palmerston), dripping.

In a personal note, the matron states that she “is greatly helped by her loyal staff and the teachers at the Beach school who co-operate with our work here. The home will miss Miss Thompson very much when she leaves, as. the children have shown marked -improvement under her charge. But the chief reason of the Home’s success is that it is a Christian Home. The work cannot be done well, thinking only of salary, the whole heart must be in the work to get results. The children are disciplined strongly but kindly and taught to love God. As a staunch member of the Mothers’ Union, the matron would urge all mothers the truth in Tennyson’s. ‘More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of.’ My children in this Home are included in the daily wave of prayer by the members of the Mothers’ Union all over the world. Fellow mothers, pray, trust and all will be well.”.
