TOWN HALL. <Sir Harry Lauder is one of the greatest figures in the world of vaudeville and concert stage. There is hardly a land that does not know of and welcome Sir Harry’s inimitable Scotch in song and story. He, with Madame Melba, are often laughed at for the number of farewell tours that they both make, but with the making of “Huntingtower” a new sphere is opened for the talent of Lauder. “Huntingtower,” by John Buchan, tells the story of a Scottish grocer who set out on a walking tour- and found adventure and romance. British made, with a fine cast of international importance, “Huntingtower” comes to the Town Hall next Wednesday. Also episode 4of “Blake of Scotland Yard,” “Dizzy Sights” (Comedy), and News. Usual prices, A spirited comedy drama of a youth who lived down a reputation as a braggart will head Friday’s programme. Ibis titled “The Fourfiusher.” Usual prices. ROYAL. “Peaks of Destiny,” the marvellous Ufa production released by Cinema Art Films Ltd., will be shown at the Royal theatre on Saturday. Some of the mountaineering is exceptionally thrilling. Made with the assistance of the Alpine Club, there has been no need for fake shots; sufficient intrepidity is to be found among the members to provide quite unrehearsed thrills. To jadefi town workers the sheer beauty of the picture from its imposing long-distance, shots to the arabesques of frozen ice on window panes, should prove refreshing as a tonic. With full supporting 'programme. Prices X/- and 1/6. Children half price.
