PERSONAL.
Mi*. W. E. Fuller, of Messrs Levin and Co., Wellington, is on a business visit to Foxton. Mr. W. J. Edmonds, of Wellington, who is on a health recruiting v visit to Levin, paid a visit to Foxton yesterday, Mr. J. 11. Good, who for some years has been engaged in the poultry industry in Norbiton Road, has disposed of his business to Mr. • Richardson, of Shannon. Mrs.'Hannah, an-old resident of Foxton, who for the last year of so has been residing out of the district, has returned to Foxton, and is again resident in Thynne Street. Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Hornblow are at present on a visit to the Wairarapa, where they will attend the jubilee of the Greytown Borough. Mr. Hornblow is a native of Greytown. On the occasion of Mr. A. C. ~ Kennerley’s departure for Levin the members of the Carterton Methodist choir presented him with a fountain pen and an enlarged photograph of the choir. Mrs. Kennerr ley was entertained by the members of the Carterton . branch of the WJC.T.U. and presented with stainless cutlery, a rose bowl, and two bouquets. A fine compliment was paid to the Matron of All Saints’ Beach Home by Mr. F. A. Mason (headmaster of the local District. High School) at the committee meeting held last evening. Mr. Mason said ,the Home was their biggjest “family” at the beach and he had never seen a finer, healthier and brighter lot of children than those attending, the side-school from the Home. They looked the picture of health, and were well nourished and contended and a great credit to the Matron (Mrs. Bain). Under her care the children had shown' a marked improvement: both physically and in their work at the school. i Mr. W. Currie,- who for some years has been connected with the local P. and 1 T. Line Staff, and who was recently shifted to Hunterville, has received notice of his permanent transfer to the Palmerston N. branch. Mr. Currie has been prominently connected with football locally for some years, both as a' player and latterly as a member of the Foxton Football Club committee. Both Mr. and Mrs. Currie are well and popularly known locally v and will be greatly missed on their removal to Palmerston North. Mr. and Mrs. Currie leave Foxton for Palmerston North to-morrow.
