SCHOOL ATTENDANCE.

RECORD REACHED AT DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL. Reporting at last night’s meeting of the Foxton District High School Committee, the headmaster (Mr. F. A. Mason) stated that the school rolls to date were as follows: —Primary Department, 411; Secondary Department, 41; Side School, 63; a grand total of 515. A healthy sign of the roll said Mr. Mason, is that the infant department is mow overcrowded, but this congestion will be naturally relieved by the promotion to Standard 1 of some 30 odd children at the beginning of the new year. The above figures constitute a record for the school.
