FIRST DAY AT FEHjDING. Excellent weather conditions prevailed for the first day of the Feilding races yesterday. A number of local people attended the fixture. The totalisator put through £20,357, compared with £25,777 last years. Results: — <- Waituna Hack Hurdles: —Elysianor (W. Bowden) 1, Sunart 2, Bonhomme 3. Won by a length. Time 2.51. Aorangi Trial Plate, first division:—Stanchion 1, Elicit 2, St, Melba 3. Wjon by a length. Time 1.16. Second division: —Boundary 1, Emberalto 2, Snoeshoe 3. Won by one and a-half lengths. Time 1.16 1-5. Feilding Cup:—Vertigern 1, Arrow Lad 2, Tcheka 3. Won by two lengths. Time 2.6 2-5, 23rd Feilding Stakes:—-Paganelli I, Lysander 2, The Hawk 3. Won by three lengths. Time 1.1 2-5. Kowkai Hack Handicap;—Home Made 1, Kalos 2, Acred 3. Won by half a length. Time 1.57 2-5. Flying Handicap: —Vast Acre 1, Banket 2, Chelone 3. Won by a head. Time 1.13 4-5. Fitzroy Hack Handicap: —Rameses 1, Gold Dawn 2 Calapat 3. Won by a head. Time 1.14 4-5, Kiwitea Handicap:—Merry Damon 1, Mountain Heath 2, Orazone 3. Won by a length. ■ Time - 1.55 3-5.
