TOWN HALL. Edmund Cobb gracefully relinquishes stellar honours to “Dynamite,” the police dog star of “Call of the Heart,” a Universal Western feature photoplay which will bo screened at the Town Hall on Friday. The popular star of many recent Universal Western film plays acknowledges the great talents of this wonder dog and contents himself with the featured male role in an unusual story of the west which unfolds a tale of a cattlemen’s war against home-steaders, in which the dog- matches his wits and intuition, an animal’s “sixth sense,” against the plotting and cruelty of a band of desperadoes. Lon iChaney and Betty Compson, who were launched to motion picture fame together in “The Miracle Man,” are playing in the same picture for the first time since the historic occasion in “The Big City,” Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer’s graphic story of the New York underworld showing at the Town Hall on Saturday. Chaney plays the role of a police sleuth, and Miss Compson is seen as the member of the underworld. Usual prices. ROYAL. The big sea special, “The Blood Ship,” will be screened at the Royal on Saturday next. Hobart Bosworth, in a sailor role that is said to be greater than any he has ever portrayed before, is the featured star, along with Jacqueline Logan and Richard Arlen. “The Blood Ship,” 'adapted from the novel of the same name, written by Norman Springer, retains all the genuine tang of the sea. It is the story of a hell ship of the old days, in command of a brutal captain. The love interest is sustained by. Miss Logan and Mr. Arlen. A 1 thrilling climax brings the spectators to the edge of their seats. Others in the cast give very excellent performances. George B. Seitz directed.
