THE WHITAUNUI MILL

SCUTCHING SHED TO BE SHIFTED. It is the intention of Messrs White unui Ltd. to shift their scutching shed, at present located just outside the borough of Foxton on the Moutoa road, back to the mill at Moutoa. The company notified the Horowhenua Power Board of this fact at its meeting last week and said that they expected to be ready for scutching in the new shed in about four weeks and would like the Board to arrange for them to couple up with the power at the mill on or before December Ist. They understood that the Board would be able to make whatever alterations were necessary without disturbing stripping operations. The Board secretary reported that he had replied stating that the .necessary alterations would be attended to without delay and that stripping operations would not be disturbed more than was necessary.

The Power Board left the matter in the hands of the engineer, who stated that arrangements for tho change-over of the supply had been made but that the shed had not yet been shifted.
