THE SWIMMING BATHS.

The local swimming 'baths were declared officially open on November 7th but have noli been very well patronised yet. The present spell of fine weather is attracting a good number and within a day or so the caretaker (Mr. S. Dudson) expects to be kept fairly busy. The baths were emptied on Sunday and filled yesterday morning. During the winter'a blockage in the outlet pipe which became a nuisance towards the close of the season this year, was located and burnt out. The baths also received a new coat of paint prior to the opening. The spring board is out of action at present but it is hoped that it will be in use in a day or so. Only three season tickets have been taken out so far but it is anticipated that a good number of swimmers will • avail themselves of this privilege when swimming starts in real earnest. Season and month-

ly concession tickets may be obtained from the Borough Council office.
