HORTICULTURAL SHOW.
In the rose section of this year’s schedule, there are several valuable prizes. A trophy from Mr. James Ross for most points; special prizes for local growers are given by Mrs. A. S. Easton and Mr. J. M. Thomson, while Mr. Hepner’s trophy, value, £5 5s Od is to, be again competed for. Mr. H. Hughes also offers a trophy for the champion rose slioivn. In the sweet pea section there are also several special prizes. Mr. W. Barber’s special of 10/6 for most points; Miss Hughes’ trophy, value £1 Is Od, is also to be competed for, while Mr. J. K. Hornblow has given prizes value 10/6 for the best vases of sweet peas exhibited. Cottage gardeners are requested to remember that entries must be made with the president or secretary not later than Saturday, November 17th.
