A meeting of representatives of the district flaxmillers and the Flaxmill Employees’ Union wa£ held in Palmerston North yesterday to discuss matters relative to the flax dispute. The Press was not admitted, but it is understood that no decision was”arrived at, and that the dispute will now be brought before the Arbitration (Court at Wellington on November 16. It is understood that the employers requested a straightout reduction of 10 per cent, until iiax reached £27 10s a ton. The Union’s request was for a sliding scale of wages as suggested by Mr. Clinkard, of the Department of Indus trios and Commerce.
